Getting started
Create an account, pick a username, and take the first hour in YouDash.
What YouDash is
YouDash is your personal operating system: one workspace for tasks, calendar, notes, bookmarks, documents, recipes, movies, TV, a daily Home, and an Assistant that can work with your data.
It is built for you first. Sharing with friends exists; a social feed is not the point.
Create an account
- Open Get started (or go to /auth/signup).
- Sign up with email or the provider offered on the form.
- Accept the Terms if you have not already.
- Choose a unique username. This is required before the app opens, and it is the handle on your public profile.
- Read the short first-run screen at /onboarding, then continue to Home.
Note.YouDash is web-first. Use it in the browser on desktop or phone. There is no native app to install.
Your first hour
After onboarding you land on Home — the daily dashboard. Do these four things so the workspace starts working for you:
- On Home, look at Plan and Collect for today, then Customize so glance and the sections you actually use are visible.
- Create a bookmark for a page you actually use this week.
- Open Collections and look at the presets created for you.
- Create one collection of your own (a project, a trip, a research pile) and drop that bookmark into it.
Tip.Install the browser extension when you want capture to be one click. New bookmarks from the extension land in Saved from Extension.
Preset collections
On signup YouDash creates a few collections so you are not staring at an empty tree:
- Personal — a default place for mixed items.
- Saved from Extension — captures from the clipper.
- Browser Sessions — windows you save as collections from the extension.
Warning.Preset collections stay private. You cannot share them. Create a new collection when you want to collaborate.
Find your way around
- Sidebar: Home, Assistant, and Contacts, then Organize, Plan, Collect, and Track.
- Command palette (⌘K / Ctrl+K) searches pages and items.
- Account menu (avatar): profile, friends, settings, docs, feedback.
- On a phone, the bottom bar and account sheet cover the same ground.
