Core concepts
Home, Collections, items, and tags — the model everything else sits on.
The loop
YouDash is one loop, not a pile of apps: capture → organize → plan and act → reflect.
| Step | Where |
|---|---|
| Capture | Bookmarks, notes, documents, recipes, the extension |
| Organize | Collections and tags |
| Plan / act | Home, tasks, calendar, Assistant |
| Reflect | Timeline, media logs, trash (when you undo) |
Home is not the marketing page
Home is your authenticated daily dashboard at /home. The public marketing page is what logged-out visitors see at youdash.io. They are different surfaces.
Open HomeCollection
A Collection is a nestable group that can hold mixed item types — bookmarks, tasks, notes, documents, recipes, widgets, and other collections. It is the spine of the product, not a single-type folder.
- Nest up to five levels.
- Each collection has a display mode (grid, list, detailed) and a sort mode.
- Visibility can be private, shared with friends, or public.
- Preset collections are private and not shareable.
Item
An item is anything that can sit in a collection. The same bookmark can live on the Bookmarks page and inside a collection. Moving or trashing from a collection follows the item’s own rules (soft-delete goes to Trash).
Tag
A tag is a cross-cutting label. Use collections for “this belongs together.” Use tags for “this is about X” no matter which collection it lives in.
